Discovery Note
Stephen M. Sullivan - August, 1999
The first edition of the US Error Note Encyclopedia discusses the possibility
of an Offset Error Note having multiple offsets where one of the impression
is lighter and a different shape than the other. Although this possibility
exists, none had ever been discovered when the book went to press.
Fellow error note dealer, Carl Bombara, is credited for the first discovery of this error type. He found
the note pictured below, in 1998 after reading the chapter in the Error
Encyclopedia about this possibility.
There have since been 3 more discoveries of this rare and elusive error type. 2
of them have been $2.00 notes and are from the same sheet.
