Canadian and English Paper Money Collection Stolen
A large collection of world paper money was stolen from a Melbourne, Florida Post Office on April 6, 2001. A registered package was picked up and signed for by someone other than the addressee. The estimated loss is approximately $60,000.
The notes consisted of a nearly complete type set of the Bank of Canada, Series 1935 through present, several error notes, and a large group of proofs. The England notes were from Series 1925 to present. An additional type set from Soviet Georgia, Series 1993 through present was also stolen.
The collection includes six $1000 Canadian notes of various types, and several high value Canadian proofs. A complete list of the stolen notes with serial numbers can be obtained either by calling Capital Currency, Inc at 321-693-4537, by emailing errors@capcurr.com or by visiting the Capital Currency website at http://www.capcurr.com/stolen.xls.
There is a reward for the return of the collections. The amount of the reward will be based the number and condition of the notes recovered.
