Series 1882 $500 Brown Seal Gold Certificate
This is the only known example of a Series 1882 $500 Brown Seal Gold Certificate.
It was discovered in late 1999 and has finally made an example of this note available
to the collecting public. This is definately one of the most amazing discoveries of
this decade.
A Series 1882 $500 Gold Certificate is known that is missing the face printing and
would have been printed as a Brown Seal (known because of the brown security thread
found embedded in the note) and was sold to a private collector last year. We
are trying to arrange for a scan of this Error Note for the gallery.
