Large Sized $10,000.00 Gold Certificates were issued for six series: 1863, 1870, 1875, 1882, 1888 and 1900. There are ten distinct varieties (major differences with Series, Face Design, Seal Type or Back Design) within this denomination.

Series 1863 is the first Series of $10000.00 Gold Certificates. The Eagle vignette on the left represents "E. Pluribus Unum". All Series 1863 $10,000.00 Gold Certificates bear the signatures of S.B. Colby and F.E. Spinner and are hand dated and countersigned by an Assistant Treasurer of the United States.

Series 1870			Series 1870 Face Design		There is No Back Design
The faces of the Series 1870 $10,000.00 Gold Certificates represent a complete new design from the previous series. These notes are uniface and have no Back Design. The portrait on the left side of the face is Andrew Jackson. Series 1870 $10,000.00 Gold Certificates bore the signatures of Allison & New, Allison & Gilfillan, and Allison & Wyman. They were hand dated bewteen 1870 and 1871 and countersigned by an Assistant Treasurer of the United States.
