The portrait on the left side of the face is Abraham Lincoln. All Series 1870 $500.00 Gold Certificates bore the signatures of John Allison as Register of the Treasury and two additional signatures of the Assistant Treasurer of New York and the Assistant Treasurer of The United States. They were hand dated.
