The Face Design is an allegory figure representing "Science presenting steam and electricity to commerce and manufacturing.". The portraits on the back are Robert Fulton and Samuel F.B. Morse on the right. Both men were American inventors.
This note is part of the "Educational Series" of 1896, along with the $2.00 and $5.00 Silver Certificates of the same series.
