Facts, Fiction and Trivia:

- This note was printed with a numeric series (i.e., Series 1) designator near the top margin of the face. The series designator can be found on either the left or right side of the "Act of July 11, 1862" printed at the top of the note. The first 100,000 notes were printed without a Series designator and each run of 100,000 notes printed thereafter were given a new numeric designator.

- There were 28,351,348 of these notes printed and notes from runs as high as "Series 283" are known to exist.

- Although never printed, the face of this note shows that a $3.00 denomination was also slated for this issue.

- Variety LUS1-1c is very rare with less than 10 known examples.
