John Burke
John Burke served in the North Dakota House of Representatives, the state Senate, as Governor of North Dakota, and as a Chief Justice of the North Dakota Supreme Court. A staunch progressive, he even earned himself the nickname "Honest John Burke," and it even sounded as if people really meant it.
Between his terms as Governor and State Surpreme Court Justice, he also served as Treasurer of the United States. He was appointed to this office by President Woodrow Wilson.
Treasurer of the United States from 04/01/1913 through 01/05/1921
