Ms. Ortega was the Treasurer of the United States during the Reagan administration, the second hispanic woman to hold this post. Before then, she had the distinction of being the first Hispanic Woman to be president and director of a California bank.
More recently, Ms. Ortega has been serving on the boards of directors of several companies, including at least one well-known dog food maker.
