George Washington

George Washington

(February 22, 1732 - December 14, 1799)

George Washington was born in Westmoreland County, Virginia. He was the first President of the United States of America (1789-1797). he is known as "the Father of our Country". He was a member of the Continental Congress (1774-1775) and the Chairman of the Constitutional Convention (1787-1788).

Washington refused the salary of $25,000.00 per year for his term as President.
