Andrew Jackson

(March 15, 1767 - June 8 1845)

Andrew Jacksone was born in The Waxhaws settlement, South Carolina. He started his career as a lawyer. He was elected to Congress (1796-1797), elected to the U.S. Senate (1797-1798 & 1823-1825) and was a judge to the State Supreme Court of Tennessee ((1798-1804). He was a Major General during the War of 1812. He was Governor of the Territory of Florida in 1821. He was elected the 7th President of the United States (the first Democrat) in 1828 and served two terms.

As President, he refused to support the renewal of the charter of the bank of The United States.
