Philip Sheridan

(March 6, 1831 - August 5, 1888)

Philip Sheridan was a Union General during the Civil War.

After the Civil War, he became the military commander of Louisiana and Texas.

He spent the following years out west, fighting the Indians, where he earned the rank of Lieutenant General. He eventually became the general of the army of the United States.
