George H. Thomas

(July 31, 1816 - March 28, 1870)

George Thomas was a Union Brigadier General during the Civil War.

He was known as the "Rock of Chickamauga". He ultimately earned the rank of major general.

After the war, he was sent first to Kentucky and Tennessee, then San Francisco.
